This file contains 21 Battle of the Books questions for the book, Planting the Trees of Kenya By Claire A. Jacket design from PLANTING THE TREES OF KENYA: THE STORY OF WANGARI. Even using these questions for practice sessions, 20-30 questions was more than sufficient for practices and a fair and lively competition. OF THE STATUE OF LIBERTY by Linda Glaser, illustrated by Claire A. I felt it was more important for all of my questions to be in the "In Which Book.?", format which would be used in the competition. I also did not find it necessary to have 40 questions for each book. I notice many sights have the questions set up on cards, but after organizing and moderating five battles, I found it was just as easy to keep the questions on separate laminated sheets with the title and author at the top for quick reference, then put all sheets in a notebook to thumb through and check off with an erasable marker as you use them. It is a pretty easy set-up.just choose the titles you want to use and then get the questions for those books. If you haven't had a "Battle of the Book type competition in your classroom or school, this is a great way to encourage reluctant readers and improve comprehension and retention. ![]()
